FAQ and concerns
How do I book?
Visit our "Book With Us" page and fill in the details. Once this is done, we will send your invoice for the deposit, which will also contain your photography contract. A 50% (non-refundable) deposit is required to completely book your session. Your shoot is not booked until these items are completed. Please have an idea of what you want while booking your shoot. We can bounce ideas off each other, but it helps to already know what you're looking for instead of saying "I just want to shoot." If you need help, Pinterest is a great place to start. I also have a Pinterest account under the same name.
I ask that you do not DM my personal accounts about photoshoots. I have created this process for smoother booking that also includes reading and signature for the best interest of myself and the clients. Thus, and unfortunately, I will not be responding to messages on my personal page.
Cost of Shoot & Deposit
Contact us and we will walk you through the cost. Some shoots are simpler than others, and for some we're part of production (providing props etc.). As such, the cost of the shoot reflects the complexity of the shoot and the amount of expected photos. Deposit is always 50% of the shoot cost. You can pay via cash, cashapp, zelle or paypal. These options will be presented when the invoice is sent.
When will I see the photos?
Portrait galleries are usually ready within 3-4 weeks. Large packages (20photos+) will take about 6-7 weeks. When final images are ready you will receive a link to an online gallery. The photos can be downloaded from the gallery and saved to a computer or downloaded to your mobile device. You will be given an album of non-downloadable images for you to choose your images. To choose your photos, you simply have to click the heart button found in the gallery on each photo and the gallery will automatically create the list for you. If you do not choose your images within 2 weeks, we will decide for you. Extra images cost $10 per photo.
How far in advance should I book?
I recommend scheduling your session at least 1 month to 2 weeks in advance to ensure your desired date is available. We do not take today for tomorrow bookings. If you are going to need your photos rushed we will not accept the shoot. Last minute bookings usually fall out from poor planning (a dress didn't arrive in time, hair or makeup artist not available, minor inconveniences) so plan ahead!
Can I reschedule?
I understand that life happens and there are some things that can be out of your control. Please contact me as early as possible if there is a need to reschedule your session so we can discuss options. As for weather, I monitor it throughout the week. I will touch base the day before your session to reschedule if necessary. Please remember that the deposit is nonrefundable and if you fail to contact me or are a no-show I will not be held responsible.
What time should I schedule for?
Lighting is best closest to sunrise and sunset. I prefer shooting around 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.. The sun can be very harsh mid-day and softer light flows better with my shooting style. For indoors we can shoot in the afternoon to get a lot of light coming through windows. Don't rely on inside lighting! We do not shoot after 6 p.m.
Shooting style and raw images
My shooting style is a mix between editorials and portraits, fine art and conceptual photography along with fashion. I do not deliver unedited images or RAW images under any circumstance. Please do not request unedited photos.
What kind of shoots do you (not) do?
I like photos that either tell a story or have some sort of theme. I don't like "just say cheese" photos. And recently I have been turning down shoots of that nature. As for what I don't shoot, I do not do event photography period. I do not shoot parties of any kind. I also do not shoot christenings, weddings or baby showers. Families and children shoots are rare occasions. If it involves more than 4 people we most likely will decline the shoot.
Do you travel?
I'm working on it. I want to travel to reach more clients. Right now, I shoot specifically on St. Croix. I've decided that I may travel, but travel fees will be applied to anywhere out of the island.
Can I share my photos online?
Of course! I retain the copyright to all photos but please feel free to share your photos with the world. Please just remember to credit your photographer and for the love of everything do not put a filter on the photo.
